Westport 117 | 35m
Introduction & Legacy
The Westport 117, often referred to simply as W117 | 35m, is the latest flagship in Westport Yachts’ storied lineup. Launched as the successor to the long-running and highly successful Westport 112, the W117 marks a significant leap forward in design, technology, and sustainability.
Design, Construction & Environmental Impact
Built using vacuum-infused composite molding, including vinylester resin, e-glass with foam core, and structural carbon fiber framing, the W117 blends lightness with strength. Developed with three-dimensional modeling and aviation-grade structural software, it’s engineered to meet rigorous standards for performance and classing.
Significantly, the new hull design accommodates a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system—an advanced emissions-control technology—demonstrating Westport’s commitment to sustainability. Built to ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) standards, it carries the A1 Yachting Service AMS class notation.
Interior Style & Flow
Westport has departed from its traditionally heavy-paneled interiors in favor of a more modern aesthetic:
-
The main salon and dining areas utilize a palette of whites, grays, leather, and vinyl accents, with luxurious woods like mahogany and pomelle sapele in guest areas and beech in crew spaces
-
Large panoramic windows flood the interiors with natural light and create an open feel
-
The galley is designed more like a residential kitchen, featuring an island, breakfast nook, fridge/freezer units, and easy access to side decks—ideal for interactive cooking and socializing.
